Summer Update

Launching Our New People Carrier to Support City Centre Soup Kitchen

At Emmaus Glasgow, our mission has always been to help those in need, and we are excited to announce the launch of our new people carrier! This addition to our fleet means we can once again drive into the city centre following the introduction of the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ). Our new vehicle is not just a mode of transportation; it's a lifeline for many people in our community.

Heartfelt Thanks to Our Supporters

This incredible step forward has been made possible by the immense support and donation from Mathew Radley & Associates Social Impact Fund and one of our dearest friends and supporters, Sarah Atta. Their generosity has enabled us to purchase this crucial vehicle, significantly enhancing our ability to serve the community. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Mathew Radley & Associates and Sarah Atta for their unwavering support and commitment to our cause.

With the new people carrier and by being able to enter the city centre without penalty, we can collect food from our donors, including end-of-day items from retailers. This vital collection enables us to stock up on the essentials needed for our soup kitchen. Every Wednesday and Sunday evening, we bring everything needed for the operation, providing a much-needed service for those experiencing homelessness and food insecurity.

Community Activity

This month Emmaus Glasgow  donated a pine bench, a barrel fish tank, and a corner arbour for the memorial area at St Roch's Juniors.

Special thanks to Mick C, who did most of the work on this project! His dedication and hard work have made a significant impact, providing a beautiful and serene space for reflection at St Roch's Juniors.

Supporting Families

This June we will once again be bringing a food bank to a local community primary school to help families facing food insecurity over the summer. By providing essential food items, we aim to support families who might struggle to provide meals during the school holidays. We’re working hard to help ensure that no family in our community goes hungry.

Join Us in Making a Difference

We invite everyone to join us in our mission. Whether through donations, volunteering, or spreading the word about our work, every bit of support makes a significant impact. Together, we can create a more compassionate and supportive community for all.
