Giving back and Giving Thanks

The month of June has seen some incredible activity both within Emmaus Glasgow and the wider community.

Throughout June, Emmaus Glasgow's city centre soup kitchen has served over 300 people, providing warm meals and a sense of community to those in need. This vital service not only meets immediate physical needs but also offers a welcoming space where individuals can find comfort and support.

Special thanks must go to our volunteers, who have gone above and beyond by using their own vehicles to ensure the smooth operation of the soup kitchen and food collection points in the city centre following the implementation of the LEZ areas.  Their commitment to the cause has been vital in maintaining our service and supporting those in need while we fundraise for a much-needed new van.

Mick's Brave Shave: Supporting Macmillan Cancer Research

On the 14th of June, Mick from Emmaus Glasgow showed his bravery by shaving his head to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Research. Mick raised an incredible £300 in donations, contributing to the important work of cancer research and supporting those affected by the disease. Emmaus Glasgow is proud to celebrate Mick's commitment to making a difference.

End of Term Food Donation: Supporting our local primary school

On the last day of term we gave away 150 bags of food to a local primary school, ensuring that children and their families have access to nutritious meals during the holidays. We’re dedicated to making a difference in our community in every way that we can.

Annual Solidarity Sale: Supporting Emmaus International

Emmaus Glasgow's shops hosted our Annual Solidarity Sale on the 22nd June, where all income generated went towards supporting Emmaus International who work to make a positive difference on a global scale.

Acknowledging Community Support

Emmaus Glasgow is immensely grateful for the support they have received from the community.

We would like to give thanks for all the amazing contributions that have helped us get a great deal closer to our fundraising target for a new van and supporting the community.  The Robertson Trust donated £10,000, Allied Motors donated £2000 and of course our incredible online supporters raised over £3000 through the Van Appeal GoFundMe. Thanks to The Invisibles for donating brand new clothing for all of our companions.

Through the support of our generous donors and volunteers, we’re working hard to continue to create a positive impact, transforming lives and building a stronger, more compassionate community.
